It’s not his fault, WWI medicine was primitive at best and those painkillers were painfully addictive. All those wounds received from constantly being shot down by the Red Baron eventually had to take a toll.

I agree. I don't blame Snoopy, but was asked why beagles needed poppy seeds.

The California Poppy doesn't contain opiates. It's a cute little wildflower that's related to other poppies, yes, but it has a different growth cycle and is much smaller. It would be too small to compete in Koumei's garden, even though it likes dry, bright conditions. They probably have very similar flowers that are native.

Many decorative poppies are grown around the world and do contain opiates. Some less, some more, but they are, primarily, easy to grow and rather pretty.

It's damned ugly and I have always resented the fact that it's considered one of August's birthday flowers. Fortunately, other poppies don't suck as much.

It's got to be twice as better than that artifical "American Legion" poppy.
